FUNCTІONAL AND SEMANTІС PECULІARІTІES OF THE SUBSTANTІVІZED ADJECTІVES ІN MODERN GERMAN

Abstract

The object of scientific reflection of this article are substantivized adjectives (SP) of the modern German language, which have limited conditions of use, and the subject – the functional and semantic aspects of their existence in modern German. The material for the analysis was explanatory dictionaries of modern German DUDEN, WAHRIG and MACKENSEN, works of art by modern German authors, periodicals. The purpose of this investigation is to identify the functional and semantic features of underused JVs in modern German, which involves the following specific tasks: 1) to determine the territorial and chronological features of the use of such JVs; 2) to analyze the features of the use of JV terms, JV professionalisms and JV jargons. Scientific novelty. Territorial marking of the lexical structure of modern German is represented in dictionaries by marks that indicate that a particular LO belongs to a certain dialect, group of dialects or national variant of literary German. In the case of JV, such labeling occurs primarily with the names of food, food and beverages (7 JV), names of persons (7 JV), names of clothing (1 JV), other (2 JV). Conclusions. The study found that SP, which are the object of scientific reflection of this article, do not belong to the main lexical structure of modern German, but most are understandable to ordinary speakers, and their use in literary and journalistic texts is a means of accurate reproduction of territorial and historical realities and concepts, delineation of a certain socio-professional environment.
