PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY IN THE CHOICE OF STUDENT YOUTH (SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS)

Abstract

The article examines a number of problems of students’ professional development that meet the needs of today. The prospects for the implementation of students’ professional activities and the secondary implementation of their labor activities, which take place in conditions of social, political, and economic instability, are considered. The factors influencing the choice of specialty and educational institution, as well as the significance of specific factors in choosing a place of work, are analyzed. Students’ opinions about the importance of higher education in finding the expected job, the dependence of employment on the educational institution that has completed the best options and the regional specifics of modern job search, etc., are highlighted. It is proposed to consider the forms of acceptability of cooperation of modern young people with an organization/firm and their plans for activities after graduating from a higher educational institution. Attention is paid to the location regarding the potential professional realization of students. Taking into account the complex processes taking place in the country, attention is focused on the forms of state support in the employment of young specialists. The article is based on the analysis of data from two sociological studies conducted simultaneously by the authors of this article in May 2024 among students of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management (Kyiv) in order to determine the primary factors in the process of approving students as a specialist during their studies at the Academy. A number of information blocks of the toolkit were developed comparatively. The presented research was conducted by the method of distribution questionnaire among junior students of IAPM, covering the areas of training in technical, natural, humanitarian and social sciences.
