The article is devoted to the study of the problem of waste management, which is important and acute, especially in the context of tourist regions. Taking into account the specifics related to tourism activities and improving the waste management system can contribute to the formation of a sustainable and environmentally friendly environment for all residents and visitors of the city. One of the most illustrative examples of this experience is the city of Venice in Italy. The reasons for Venice's pollution are explored: limited space, canal system and outdated infrastructure. The article also discusses the methods of combating pollution in Venice: garbage collection according to the rules, separate garbage collection, weekly yard cleaning, collection and removal of bulky waste and electrical appliances according to the rules, walking with biodegradable and reusable bottles, and gradual abandonment of plastic. To address the city's waste problem, it is necessary to combine infrastructure improvements, waste reduction strategies and active public engagement. We also developed methods to combat pollution at the Bukovel ski resort in the context of Industry 4.0. This is a system of sorting and separate collection, and in the future, it will be possible to use robot recyclers that can sort waste according to various factors. There will also be a regular waste collection schedule, and container level sensors can be used to prevent overfilling. Launching information campaigns among tourists and local residents on how to sort waste properly, as well as mini-lectures on the benefits and rules of waste sorting. Partnership of residents with local communities in waste collection and recycling programmes. Using technology for monitoring, such as downloading apps to inform people about recycling rules and offering rewards for responsible waste management. These measures will help to improve the waste management system at special turistic regions (for example Bukovel ski resort, Ukraine) and create an environmentally friendly environment for tourists and preserve natural resources. Adapting the best practices from the global experience of waste management in tourist regions can help create a sustainable and environmentally friendly environment, ensuring the conservation of natural resources and improving the quality of life of residents and visitors.
