Abstract

In this article, the author highlights the issue of improving the special physical training programme for qualified volleyball players, taking into account the athletes’ positions and modern training methods. The relevance of the work is determined by the need to increase the individual effectiveness of players during the competitive period, which requires the targeted development of the leading physical qualities of volleyball players in accordance with the specifics of their playing positions. The need for research lies in the fact that traditional training programmes do not always provide the proper level of physical adaptation for athletes, which is especially important in the context of highly competitive gameplay. The work focuses on the advisability of considering the proposed experimental programme an effective tool for developing jumping endurance, explosive strength, coordination, speed and other qualities of volleyball players that are of paramount importance for each playing position. As part of the study, a pedagogical experiment was conducted involving 15 volleyball players. The results of the pedagogical experiment showed positive dynamics in most indicators: an increase in the height of the attacking jump, the number of pullups, the number of repetitions in jumps in 30 seconds, as well as a decrease in the time of running with acceleration and change of direction. The greatest increase was observed in liberos and middle blockers. The experimental programme was based on an optimal combination of specific and non-specific training methods, including plyometrics, interval training, sensory exercises and training with unstable support. Thus, the developed and tested experimental programme proved the effectiveness of an individualised approach to the development of physical qualities in volleyball players, contributed to reducing the risk of exhaustion and injury, and increased the level of competitive readiness of athletes.
