The role of a medical worker and a nurse in particular is decisive and leading at all stages of treatment, diagnostic, psychotherapeutic and rehabilitation processes. That is why in medical psychology, great importance is attached to the interpersonal interaction of a nurse and a doctor with a patient, which is determined by the entire set of personal qualities of a specialist. The conscientiousness of fulfilling his duties by the future medical specialist depends on which particular motives prevail when choosing a profession.
Formulating the purpose of the article. The purpose of the article is to identify the dynamics of the motive for the professional activity of nurses at different stages of professional development.
Presenting main material. This article presents the empirical results of identifying the dynamics of the motive for the professional activity of nurses at different stages of professional development. The motives of professional activity of students at the beginning of training, at its completion, as well as of practicing nurses were investigated. For this purpose, a comparative analysis of the data obtained in 2 groups was carried out: a group of students and young nurses (242 people) and a group of patients from hospitals and primary health care centers in the city of Kiev in the same amount; the methodology "Motives of professional activity of doctors" was used.
Conclusions and prospects for further research. The most negative influence on interaction in the nurse-patient dyad can be influenced by motives of prestige, family traditions, material interests and the possibility of access to medicines. As the professional development of nurses, the hierarchy of motives changes to a lesser extent, and their importance decreases to a greater extent, which may be associated with professional burnout and negatively affect the effectiveness of interaction with patients. It is recommended to conduct a professional selection among applicants of medical colleges with the diagnosis of their motivational sphere, as well as conduct psychological work both during training and during the performance of professional duties.
