STATE POLICY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE «GREEN» ECONOMY IN UKRAINE: TRENDS AND CHALLENGES

Abstract. The state policy for the development of the green economy is an integral component of Ukraine ’s sustainable development strategy. This article analyses the current state and trends of the state policy for the development of the green economy in Ukraine, with a focus on key challenges faced by this sector. The purpose of the article is to analyze the challenges of implementing the state policy for the development of the green economy in Ukraine and identify the main trends and prospective directions for its implementation. The study explores the role of the green economy in stimulating sustainable economic growth, ensuring energy efficiency, developing renewable energy sources, and reducing harmful emissions. An analysis is conducted on the direction of specific domestic strategic legislative acts and the potential for state support aimed at expanding green initiatives. Special attention is given to identifying problems such as insufficient funding, regulatory environment instability, and limited public participation. Strategic recommendations are proposed to improve state policy and address contemporary challenges. Emphasis is placed on the importance of strengthening cooperation between the public sector, business entities, the scientific community, and civil society for the effective implementation of green strategies and the achievement of sustainable development. Key directions of the green economy are identified, including ensuring a stable regulatory environment, attracting investments and financial resources for green projects, promoting green initiatives, developing innovations and technologies, and providing proper training and support for qualified personnel in the field of the green economy. Further implementation of the green economy will contribute to balanced economic growth and an improved quality of life for citizens, ensuring an environmentally balanced future for Ukraine.
