The article deals with the consideration of global society as a transformational model of social organization. The existing theories of development of the global society are investigated and on the basis of their synthesis the constructive ideas which could be useful for the modern Ukrainian state formation are singled out. The work of the Russian researcher A. Rakhmanov is considered and a brief overview of the theories of I. Wallerstein, J. Modelski and J. Goldstein is given. Found that Wallerstein identifies three crucial element of the concept of ‘capitalist world system’, in particular the single market; a network of state and intergovernmental structures designed to transform the free functioning of the market for the benefit of the core countries; the allocation of value is mediated by the universal three-fold construction of the world-system (Capitalist-Master- Proletarian, Upper Classes –Middle Classes –Lower Classes, Nucleus –Hemisphere – Periphery, Right –Center –Left, etc.). Three mechanisms of power of the concept of the ‘capitalist world-system’ are presented, namely military power; ideological consolidation of the upper and middle layers of the world-system; the isolation and hostility of the interests of the periphery and the semi-periphery. The theory of the global political system of J.Modelski is considered. The main conditions for the acquisition of the status of a global state by a global state, namely favorable geographical position, most of all island or peninsula, stable, open society, advanced economy, political and strategic organization of global claims. The theory of cycles of the world system of the American political scientist Joshua Goldstein is considered. Goldstein’s main subject of research has been found to be the relationship between economics and politics at the core of the world system. It is revealed that the decisive drawback of Wallerstein, Model, and Goldstein’s theories, according to A. Rachmanov, is that the unity of the emerging world in the essential dimension; at the level of the mode of production is not actually explored. There are four possible scenarios for the concept of economists and political scientists. It is established that global world processes cannot be absorbed into the framework of any one theoretical direction. The Ukrainian state cannot stand aside from the processes taking place in the world, not to remain on the sidelines of civilization, but to take a worthy place among equals.
