Abstract

The article is devoted to research and theoretical substantiation of the content of professional self-realization of aviation managers. Globalization and technological processes, the increase in passenger traffic in aviation lead to the increasing need for highly skilled aviation specialists, including aviation managers. The task of modern higher educational establishments is to create conditions for students’ self-realization, to develop individuality, personal potential, to ensure the formation of professional and personal qualities of a specialist. The organization of the activity of the individual in the team is demonstrated through professional self-realization, which is formed in the learning process. It is noted that the concept of “self-realization” is revealed in the pedagogical and psychological sciences. In pedagogical literature, self-realization is defined as the result of a pedagogical process, which reflects the desire to best realize the acquired knowledge, skills and competences. From the position of psychology, self-realization is interpreted as the desire to realize one’s personal abilities in the best way. The following psychological aspects of self-realization are distinguished in the article: productive, personal, procedural, pragmatic. The analysis of the studied literature showed that the main condition for self-realization is the presence of a clearly defined goal, one’s personal condition and the achieved result. The article deals with notions of self-realization, such as “self-actualization” and “self-development”. The concept of “self-actualization” is interpreted as the desire of the person to the fullest expression and development of their capabilities and abilities. At the same time, self-realization is a conscious process of the most complete exposure and growth of the potential and motivational forces of a person. It is summarized that “self-actualization” is a narrower concept and is a part of a broader “self-realization”. Self-development is considered as one of the types of self-realization of the personality aimed at self-growth. Self-development is closely linked to self-realization, as it is motivated by the desire to develop, and to enrich its essential forces for better self-realization in the future. The article states the need to improve the process of professional adaptation of aviation managers in the higher educational establishments through the creation of comprehensive measures to build readiness for professional self-realization.
