PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE FORMATION OF THE PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY OF FUTURE MEDICAL WORKERS FROM PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The article examines the issues of psychological characteristics of the formation of professional identity among future medical specialists – students of the basic medical college in Khmelnitskyi and Kamianets-Podilskyi. The purpose of the article is a theoretical study of the psychological characteristics of the formation of professional identity of future medical specialists; determining the components of the professional identity of a future health worker and structuring a system of psychological support for the formation of professional identity of medical college students. The scientific novelty is the disclosure of the structural components of the model of psychological support for the development of professional identity of future medical specialists: cognitive, emotive, motivational-volitional, communicative and creative-reflexive. The concepts of “professional identity” and “psychological support of professional identity” are analyzed. Three periods of the process of formation of professional identity of mid-level physicians according to G. Tejfel are revealed. The work defines the criteria for the levels of formation of the professional identity of physicians. Using a questionnaire, the levels of readiness of future doctors for professional activities were determined. The degree of influence of psychological support on the dynamics of the formation of professional identity of medical students has been established. A program of psychological support for the development of professional identity of future medical specialists – students of a basic medical college – has been developed and implemented. This program covered the process of professional training of students at the educational institution throughout all years of study and included all types of practical training. As a result of the work done, it was confirmed that professional self-awareness plays a significant role in achieving professional maturity. Accordingly, this is professional self-determination, which is manifested in the professional identity of future medical specialists.
