HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF THE UKRAINIAN FAMILY: ANALYSIS OF PROBLEMS AND WAYS TO SOLUTION THEM

Abstract

The article conducted research and analyzed the evolution of the development of the Ukrainian family, clarified the main customs, traditions, everyday aspects and cultural features of the Ukrainian people. Special attention was paid to raising children and the peculiarities of relationships within the family, as well as analyzing the influence of social, economic and cultural factors on the family structure. A significant part of the work is devoted to customary traditions of entering into marriage relations. The role of parents in raising children and gender roles in the Ukrainian family, which were determined by traditions, beliefs and historical context, were also considered. The influence of Christianity on entering into marriage and building a family was determined. Through the prism of Orthodox teachings, important moral virtues such as love, mercy, compassion and support were formed in the family, which were of great importance for maintaining the stability of the family. In addition, the article conducted a comparative analysis between the modern Ukrainian family and the past. In this context, the social changes that have occurred in the family in the context of urbanization, globalization and transformation of traditional social institutions are considered. Separately, the problems of modern families, socio-economic difficulties and the demographic crisis are considered, in particular, the decline in the birth rate and the aging of the population, which significantly affect the structure of the family. The impact of the war in Ukraine on family relations, in particular on the emotional state, social roles and adaptation of families to new conditions, is also analyzed. Problems related to emigration, internally displaced persons and their impact on family relations are highlighted. The conclusions make recommendations on supporting traditional family values in the context of modern challenges, and also emphasize the importance of preserving national cultural and moral traditions. The role of state policy in supporting the family is noted, especially in the context of supporting young families and ensuring their rights. The problem of a large number of divorces, which negatively affect the functioning of the family as a socially important institution of the state, is raised, and possible ways to solve these problems are proposed through increased social support and education on family values.
