STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS OF INVESTMENT IN AGRIBUSINESS UNDER THE WAR CONDITIONS

The current state of foreign investment in the agricultural sector of Ukraine under the conditions of a full-scale war, which began in the country in February 2022, has been analyzed in the article. The dynamics of direct foreign investment in agribusiness in the period from 2015 to 2022 has been considered and heterogeneous trends have been identified, which indicate fluctuating interests and investment conditions. The impact of the war on investment activity in Ukraine has been considered and it was found that despite the negative impact of the war, investment in agribusiness is gradually recovering and has positive dynamics. The results of research by the European Business Association and Gradus Research have been analyzed, which indicate a decline in Ukraine’s investment attractiveness index, but also a certain optimism and willingness of entrepreneurs to continue investing in the country. The main factors affecting investment activity in Ukraine have been analyzed, in particular corruption, an imperfect judicial system and the general investment climate. Special attention is paid to positive developments, such as the change of Ukraine’s status to a candidate for accession to the European Union and the development of digital technologies in the country. Recommendations for substantiating investment strategies in Ukrainian agribusiness under the wartime conditions have been developed. The main strategic directions of development in this area are technical and technological renewal, development of the processing sphere, improvement of product quality, expansion and modernization of infrastructure, as well as risk management. Attention has been focused on the importance of creating a favorable and stable investment environment in Ukraine for attracting foreign investors and developing the agricultural business. In general, a comprehensive view of the current situation with investments in the agribusiness of Ukraine under the war conditions has been offered, and the opportunities and challenges facing foreign investors in the agrarian sector of the economy have been highlighted.
