MODERN UNDERSTANDING OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS AND THEIR INTERNATIONAL LEGAL STANDARDS

Abstract

The author has researched that, to date, human rights and freedoms in our country are the main principles of modern international law, which ensure the protection of personal dignity, freedom and human rights from state interference and provide the opportunity for the development of each person. It was found that these international standards provide that every person has the right to life, freedom from torture, slavery and other forms of humiliation, freedom from violence, freedom of thought, conscience and religion, freedom from discrimination on any grounds, the right to work, education and proper life. It is emphasized that in case of violation of human rights and freedoms, states are obliged to provide available and effective protection mechanisms. These mechanisms include: national courts, international monitoring bodies such as the International Court of Justice, the UN Human Rights Committee and the European Court of Human Rights. It was determined that in today's world it is important to understand that human rights and freedoms are an integral part of our global coexistence. They help to ensure equality, justice and democracy in different countries of the world. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to adhere to international legal standards of human rights and freedoms and provide accessible and effective mechanisms for their protection.
