PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES AND CORRECTION OF AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR IN ADOLESCENTS

Background. The problem of aggressive behavior in adolescence is particularly acute in the context of modern macrosocial challenges, transformation of value orientations, and crisis phenomena in society. Purpose. Deep theoretical substantiation and empirical investigation of the psychological features of aggressive behavior in adolescents (taking into account gender specifics, temperament type, and character accentuations), as well as the development of differentiated recommendations for its psychological correction. Materials and Methods. The research methodology is based on the principles of determinism, the unity of consciousness and activity, and a systemic approach to the study of personality. A set of psychodiagnostic methods was applied: the Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory, A. Assinger’s aggressiveness test, H. Eysenck’s Personality Inventory (EPI), and A. Lichko’s Pathocharacterological Diagnostic Questionnaire. The study was conducted at school No. 1 in Kaniv (the sample consisted of 31 individuals aged 12–14). Results. It was empirically established that among conflict forms of behavior, the most common are feelings of guilt (66.2%), physical (44.1%), and verbal aggression (41.2%). Gender specifics were revealed: the hostility index in boys exceeds the norm (12.5), while in girls it is within the normal range. It is proved that aggressiveness is most closely related to indicators of individual personality development and socio-psychological factors. Adolescents with schizoid and sensitive accentuations are most prone to aggressive manifestations, and those with hyperthymic, cyclothymic, and epileptoid accentuations are the most dangerous to others. Specific algorithms of psychocorrectional interaction with adolescents depending on the dominant type of character accentuation have been developed. Conclusions. The obtained empirical data give grounds to assert that the timely identification of individual typological features allows predicting the occurrence of aggressive reactions and applying an effective differentiated approach in psychocorrectional work.
