The aim of the study has been to conduct a theoretical analysis and systematization of the external psychological conditions that influence the effectiveness of combat missions carried out by the anti-aircraft missile system battle squads of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the context of modern high-tech warfare. The research methodology has been based on a systemic psychological analysis of combat missions as the functioning of anthropotechnical systems. The method of theoretical generalization of scientific approaches to the study of cognitive load, ergonomic parameters, and the psychological mediation of the actions of anti-aircraft missile system battle squads in remote combat conditions has been employed. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that, for the first time in the context of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, extreme external factors affecting the activities of anti-aircraft missile system battle squads have been systematically categorized into four groups: combat-related, technical-ergonomic, virtual-digital, and informational-semantic. The influence of “video game syndrome” and the remoteness of combat as specific stressors leading to the dehumanization of targets has been substantiated. A direct correlation has been found between the tactical and technical features of the systems (in particular, contemporary models such as PATRIOT and NASAMS) and the level of emotional stability of military personnel due to their high mobility and ergonomics. It has been established that the specific nature of the activities of anti-aircraft missile system battle squads is determined by the need to continuously translate abstract digital models into real combat scenarios under time constraints. It has been determined that external factors merely shape the operational environment, whereas the fundamental basis of reliability is the psychological readiness of military personnel. Future research should focus on examining the mechanisms of mental resilience and self-regulation as endogenous factors contributing to success in protracted conflicts.
