NEOLOGIZATION OF THE VOCABULARY OF THE MODERN UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE THROUGH THE PRISM OF WARTIME

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the processes of neologization of the vocabulary of the modern Ukrainian language in the conditions of a full-scale war. The relevance of the study is due to the rapid renewal of the lexical composition of the language under the influence of social transformations, the emergence of new realities of a military, informational and media nature, as well as the intensive entry of Anglicisms and the formation of a new layer of military and socio-political terminology. It was found that domestic linguistics does not yet have a universal classification of wartime neologisms, which is due to the high rate of appearance and variability of such tokens. The issues of neologization are constantly in the field of research of Ukrainian scientists. Domestic linguistic works on the study of military vocabulary are represented by scientific investigations of such scientists as O. Selivanova, M. Stepanenko, G. Vusyk, N. Pavlyk, S. Hrytsenko and others, who emphasize the specifics of military terminology, mass media speech and social networks. The study of this issue is relevant for further study and analysis. The purpose of the article is a comprehensive theoretical analysis of the processes of neologization of the vocabulary of the modern Ukrainian language in wartime conditions and the identification of the main mechanisms, sources and trends in the formation of new lexical units. The study is based on the methods of description, structural and semantic analysis, discourse analysis, as well as on materials from the Ukrainian media, public communication, social networks and modern dictionaries. The paper examines the key mechanisms of creating new vocabulary, in particular: institutionalization of military terms, activation of English borrowings, secondary nomination and rethinking of existing words, formation of an emotionally expressive vocabulary, the emergence of euphemisms and dysphemisms, the influence of communication of the Ukrainian diaspora and forced migrants. Neologization in wartime conditions is a systemically and extralinguistically determined process that combines linguistic patterns with social, political and cultural factors. Prospects for further research are seen in the creation of corpora of wartime neologisms, the development of standards for military terminology, and the study of psychological aspects of speech formation in extreme situations.
