PERSONAL QUALITIES AS THE BASIS FOR FORMATION OF THE PROFESSIONAL IMAGE OF A FUTURE TEACHER

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of forming a professional image as an important competence of every teacher and a necessary personal and professional quality, which directly increases the effectiveness of training. In the system of professional training of teachers enough attention is paid to acquiring academic knowledge, but shaping a teacher as a harmoniously developed personality, a driving force of educational activity, whose mental qualities are successfully combined with physical, spiritual, moral, personal and social development, external attractiveness, a teacher that has adequate self-esteem, respect and a developed self-concept – all these often remains outside the scope of educational institutions. The purpose of the article is to analyze the most significant and desirable personal qualities that are the basis for the formation of a positive professional image of the future teacher. As the results of our brief research have shown, the modern teacher can no longer be limited to the skills of selecting and presenting educational material. Their activities in the new socio-economic environment should focus on creativity, effective communication, skillful combination of democracy with pedagogical exigence and relevance of the educational material in real life, which, in general, will require the future teacher to master the respective personal qualities. Conclusions. It is argued that the professional training of teachers requires not only systematic improvement of the content and methods of their training, but also the formation and development of personality, acquisition of personal and professional qualities that will ensure a full professional activity of teachers in the modern Ukrainian society. At the same time, the professional qualities of the teacher of the new era are inseparable from the personal ones, which seems quite logical, because it is impossible to become a real, efficient teacher, having only one or another indicator. Thus, the formation of all personal and professional characteristics will provide a modern teacher with high productivity and a favorable professional image.
