Abstract

In this study, socio-psychological factors influencing the career planning process of young specialists were examined. The development of a comfortable and effective career planning process for young specialists is a key challenge of our time. According to generational theory, today’s young specialists belong to the cohorts of Millennials and Zoomers, who are characterized by their pursuit of balance between work and private life, the need to work in psychologically comfortable environments, the desire to build accelerated career routes, and the ambition to achieve growth in a short time frame. This represents a significant difference from older generations (Baby Boomers and Generation X), who place greater value on stability, predictability, and long-term professional engagement. Such differences create imbalances in the labor market and challenges in the field of human resource management, especially when multiple generations interact within the same organization. The new generation of young professionals is ready to quickly leave workplaces in search of the ideal job, while HR departments, in turn, are seeking new strategies for recruitment and retention, as well as opportunities to adapt the working environment and conditions (for example, through the involvement of coaches, psychologists, or hybrid work schedules). Therefore, identifying the factors that influence career development among young specialists is of great importance for both job seekers and employers. This article discusses the objectives and challenges of the most contemporary and effective approaches to the socio-psychological aspects of career planning among young specialists. It presents an analysis of the most influential factors and offers recommendations for developing an organizational methodology for socio-psychological career planning applicable to any institution. Exploring this issue makes it possible to obtain a deeper understanding of the patterns of development of the modern labor market and implementing successful strategies for interaction between new employees and employers.
