PRECEDENT CHARACTER OF CONNECTORS IN THE MODERN GERMAN LANGUAGE

The article is devoted to the study of connectors in the modern German language in the aspect of precedent, the scope of which includes intellectual-emotional blocks that are well known to recipients and are constantly used by them in communication. The research was conducted on the material of the German-language news texts of the tagesschau.de website. The choice of research material is determined by the relevance of the language used by news producers. The object of research is connectors as precedent units of the language, and the subject is the functional features of connectors and the mechanisms of their implementation in the modern German language. The research was carried out using the method of semantic analysis of connectors; the method of conceptual and taxonomic analysis for the study of the syntactic and positional fixedness of connectors in the text; as well as the method of contextual analysis. The article analyzes approaches to defining the terms "precedence" and "connector". The authors proposed a classification of connectors used by journalists when creating the texts of German-language news reports. In the course of the study, it was found in terms of the frequency of use of such connectors as connectors to indicate the addition of information, to indicate temporal connections, chronological connectors, connectors for comparing facts, argumentative connectors, opposition connectors, connectors for repeating thoughts, connectors for accentuating thoughts, clarifying connectors and generalizing connectors. In the course of the research, it was established that from a pragmatic point of view, connectors have the status of markers that act as operators of the recipients’ attention. Connectors signal a change in communicative perspective and are units of evaluative categories of syntax. The precedent nature of connectors in the modern German language, in particular in the texts of news messages, is revealed in their functions, position in the sentence and in the structural parts of the news message, as well as in their interaction with other linguistic units.
