ACTUALIZATION OF NOUN INDIVIDUAL-AUTHORIAL NOMINATION IN THE PROSE OF VALERY SHEVCHUK: SEMANTIC-DERIVATIVE ASPECT

Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of the idiostyle of the modern Ukrainian writer Valery Shevchuk. The subject of the analysis is the nominal author’s lexical neologisms found in the novel “Silver Milk”. Considering that so far in modern linguostylistics a comprehensive linguistic analysis of the idiostyle, the individual-author’s language creativity of Valery Shevchuk has not been carried out, our research is relevant. The purpose of the article was to carry out a linguistic analysis of the nominal individual-author’s nomination in the prose of Valery Shevchuk, to describe the semantic and derivational structure of the nominal author’s neologisms, to consider their functioning in the novel “Silver Milk”. The following methods were used in the work: the method of contextual analysis to clarify the semantics of noun authorial neologisms, the descriptive method to present their various thematic groups, the word-formation method to clarify the creation of noun neolexemes, the method of linguistic stylistic observation to establish the features of the use of authorial neologisms in artistic discourse. As a result of the analysis, noun, adjective, verb and adverbial authorial innovations were identified in the novel “Silver Milk”. It was established that the dominants of the writer’s individual-authorial nomination are noun authorial lexical innovations. Several of their lexical and semantic groups were identified: names of persons, abstract names, specific names. As a result of the comparisons, it was found that in the novel “Silver Milk” the most numerous are individual-authorial nominations of persons and nouns with abstract meaning. The analysis of the derivational structure of the author’s noun innovations and their creation allows us to state that the majority of the neolexemes found in the work are formed by suffixal method, stem- and word-formation. It has been established that in the novel “Silver Milk” the author’s noun lexical neologisms demonstrate powerful expressive capabilities; the evaluative and expressive coloring of the author’s noun innovations has been revealed
