COGNITIVE-DISCURSIVE MODELLING OF WARTIME SEMANTICS IN THE TERMINOLOGY SYSTEM OF CRISIS MEDICINE

The article proposes a cognitive–discursive model of the system of wartime semantics within the terminology system of crisis medicine. Two interrelated yet semantically distinct vectors of wartime semantics are outlined – the institutional-organizational and the anthropological-existential, which determine the formation of the militarymedical and the wartime-medical macrogroups. Their internal frame-based organization is examined, with a division into macro- and microgroups in accordance with the frame-functional principle of structuring the material. The main focus is placed on a comparative analysis of how terminology of crisis medicine functions in the officialbusiness, publicistic, and literary styles. The analysis has shown that the military-medical macrogroup represents the institutional and procedural order of medical support, whereas the wartime-medical macrogroup focuses on the medical consequences of armed confrontation. To obtain the results, a frame-based approach was employed as a cognitive tool for knowledge modelling, which made it possible to describe the terminological system as an integral structural-functional model. The analysed material attests to the polyfunctionality of terminology of crisis medicine and its dependence on the stylistic mode of functioning. The findings confirm that only a comprehensive analysis combining cognitive-discursive, functional-stylistic, and linguopolitical approaches makes it possible to adequately explain the patterns of the organization of wartime semantics within the terminology system of crisis medicine
