Formulation of the problem. Given the high level of latency in the formation of women's victim behavior in modern Ukrainian society, the medical-psychological aspect of personal study is needed and the recommendations on prevention of a woman's becoming on the path of possible victim and psycho-correction of her personality are to be developed on this basis. Analysis of recent research and publications. The lack of awareness of the formation of victim behavior makes it particularly dangerous because it negatively affects the development of the individual, the construction of a scenario of life, the choice of a marital partner, professional and career growth, mental and physical health. Formulating the purpose of the article. The purpose of our research was to theoretically substantiate and experimentally test psychological mechanisms, factors and conditions for the formation of women's victim behavior. Presenting main material. The sample survey was a total of 273 people. It has been found that women victims of family violence change their essence and their feelings to satisfy others even if they do not satisfy their own needs; have a low self-esteem: they consider themselves to be the culprits of their relatives' illnesses; Subjected to sudden, incompatible with common sense effects; focused on the desire to keep their family from collapse, to save it from shame; they form distorted ideas about the possibilities of will power, as well as alcohol-dependent. Conclusions and perspectives of further research. Parental attitude, which is characterized by physical images, emotional alienation and ignorance of the child, constant criticism and dissatisfaction, suppresses the affective sphere of the child, which causes the feeling of helplessness and inferiority and deforms the cognitive sphere, creating the preconditions for the development of internal conflict of personality. It is the model of a dysfunctional family that often becomes a determinant of a number of emotional, cognitive, behavioral disorders in its members, which can act as a subject of correction in intervention.
