Thyroid resection is an important aspect of endocrine surgery, which includes interventions in the treatment of various diseases of this gland. The issues of postoperative recovery and rehabilitation of patients are essential for improving treatment outcomes.Since the topic of thyroid gland resection is relevant at the global level, studying the dynamics of scientific publications helps to identify key areas, major countries and institutions dealing with this issue. The aim of the study is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of publications on thyroid resection in the Scopus database to assess the dynamics of scientific research, identify the main topics and areas, and analyse the leading authors, countries and institutions involved in this topic.Methodology. To achieve the objective, a bibliometric approach was used, combined with quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis. The analysis was based on publications indexed in the Scopus database for the period from 1938 to 2024. A specialised search query was used to create a database that included key terms related to postoperative thyroid resection, its consequences and rehabilitation.Results. According to the analysis, the total number of publications on this topic is 2,327, with a noticeable increase in 2020-2024. Most studies focus on surgical aspects, postoperative recovery, and rehabilitation. The leading countries actively publishing research are the United States, China, and the United Kingdom. The leaders in publications are medical institutions such as the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre and Harvard Medical School.Conclusions. The study confirms the high level of international interest in the problem of postoperative thyroid resection, as evidenced by the growth in the number of publications in recent years. The topic of thyroid resection is interdisciplinary in nature and involves medical, biochemical, psychological, and other specialists. The results emphasise the importance of further research to improve postoperative recovery in patients.
