Restoring dentoalveolar defects is one of the key challenges in modern dentistry. Tooth autotransplantation – the relocation of a patient`s own tooth to another socket – is considered a promising treatment option that combines functional efficiency with natural tissue integration. Despite its proven clinical success, this method remains underutilized, highlighting the need to summarize current data on its indication's techniques, and outcomes. Objective. To analyze and summarize current scientific literature and clinical data on the effectiveness, indications, executing protocols, and prognosis of tooth autotransplantation as a biologically sound method for the restoration of dental arch defects. Methods. In order to form the primary initial sample of publications, a search for such publications was conducted using the Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/), PubMed (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/), ResearchGate (https://www. researchgate.net/) with the following set of keywords: “autotransplantation”, “tooth transplantation”, “autotransplantation complications” “surgical technique”. Results. As a result of the literature review, key aspects of tooth autotransplantation as a clinical treatment method were systematized. It was established that the success of the procedure depends on careful patient and donor tooth selection, atraumatic extraction techniques, precise planning and strict adherence to surgical protocols. The most frequently reported complications include ankylosis, external root resorption, and pulp necrosis. The review also analyzed the role of modern digital technologies in the planning and execution of autotransplantation, which contribute to improved accuracy and predictability of outcomes. Overall, the finding confirm the high clinical efficacy of the method, provided that all stages of treatment are properly followed. Conclusions. As a result of the literature review, it was that tooth autotransplantation is an effective biological method for the replacement of missing teeth, demonstrating high clinical success rates, preservation of the alveolar bone, and excellent functional and aesthetic outcomes. These findings emphasize the need for broader implementation of this method in modern dental practice.
