OF UKRAINIAN MEDIA IN THE CONTEXT OF DE-RUSSIFICATION OF THE INFORMATION SPACE

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the potential of the language policy of Ukrainian media and study its dynamics in the context of the general strategy of de-Russification of the information space. The research methodology is composed of a systemic method, comparative analysis, theoretical methods (analytical-synthetic, classification, systematization, generalization). Russian propaganda involves tools of informational and psychological pressure on Ukrainian society in the media environment, which aims to incite internal national, cultural-linguistic and religious hostility, spread disinformation narratives, and manipulate the historical context. In such a situation, language acts not only as a communication tool, but also as an effective means of influencing public consciousness and countering disinformation attacks. The article analyzes the effectiveness of media content control as part of the general information security strategy and methods for popularizing Ukrainian-language content. The article positions the modern language policy of the media space as a tool for strengthening the positions of the state Ukrainian language, an incentive for effective educational and cultural progress, and limiting the influence of Russian information narratives. The approaches proposed in the study to strengthen the effectiveness of the language policy of Ukrainian media, which include supporting the promotion of Ukrainian-language content and the activities of independent media, banning Russian propaganda resources, and controlling the educational environment and the communication field of social platforms, can serve as effective practical vectors for reducing the impact of disinformation campaigns and intensifying the process of de-Russification of the media space of Ukraine
