COMMODITY EXPERTISE AND RESEARCH OF PERFUMERY GOODS AND PERFUMES. NICHE PERFUMES

Commodity examination is a study of goods, raw materials, and equipment with the aim of determining their quality, characteristics, the amount of material damage caused due to their damage, the cost of carrying out repair and restoration work on them, as well as their compliance with existing standards. The Department of Expert Justice Provision of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine reviewed and processed the annual reports of scientific research institutes of forensic sciences of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as SRIFS) on expert work for the year 2022. In 2022, SRIFS performed 124,790 forensic examinations and expert studies by order of courts, prosecutor’s offices, the National Police of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, fiscal authorities, the National Anti- Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, the State Executive Service of Ukraine, other organizations, lawyers and citizens, which compared to 2021 by 6530 examinations and studies or by 8.7% less. A significant number of examinations in 2022 was carried out by the SRIFS in criminal proceedings and cases of administrative offenses – 99,909 examinations, which is 80.1% of the total number of examinations conducted. It should be noted that out of the total number of SRIFS examinations, the largest number of commodity examinations was performed – 22.6% of the total number of examinations. Such a number of commodity studies requires attention to conducting various types of research on various objects that have their own characteristics. The article examines the peculiarities of the specificity of this type of goods, such as perfumery, in more detail it focuses on the characteristics of niche perfumes. The specifics of the classification of this group of goods have been determined. The types of merchandising examinations of perfumery goods were studied, including identification, quantitative, value and authenticity examination. Perfume products include perfumes, colognes, toilet (scented) waters, perfume sets, the main purpose of which is to aromatize skin, hair, clothes, etc. Some types of perfume products are used as hygienic and refreshing products. The identification of perfume products is the establishment of conformity of the name of the product, the mass fraction of the composition in the perfume liquid with the information specified on the label and accompanying document. One of the tasks of the product scientific examination of perfumery products is to establish compliance with the specified list of features given in the regulatory and technical documentation.
