ROLE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF COMPARATIVE CRIMINAL LAW IN THE SYSTEM OF LEGAL EDUCATION

The article is devoted to determining the place of «Comparative criminal law» in the system of legal education. The relevance and demand of comparative criminal law as an educational discipline is argued, which contributes to the formation of the worldview of a new generation of lawyers and reinforces the fundamentality of legal education. The practical role of comparative criminal law is revealed, it is noted that comparative criminal law as an independent educational discipline opens up new opportunities in the field of direct study of criminal legislation of modern legal systems; helps to navigate the legal map of the world, as well as apply the results of criminal legal research to improve national criminal law; contributes to the development of scientific theory comparative jurisprudence in the field of criminal law. The point of view is substantiated that the introduction of the educational discipline «Comparative criminal law» among the mandatory disciplines for master's studies in criminal law specialization would be an effective factor in improving the quality of education and training competent specialists for modern transnational legal practice. The proposed author's approach to the system of comparative criminal law, which involves the allocation of a three-part structure: descriptive comparative criminal law, general and special parts. It is concluded that, as of today, the introduction of the «Comparative Criminal Law» educational discipline in the training plans of future lawyers has not yet reached the appropriate level. Such a situation is caused by various reasons, but it needs further resolution, because in the conditions of globalization of the economy and law, the growth of international political, economic, cultural and legal contacts, the introduction of educational disciplines of the comparativist cycle becomes a necessary part of quality legal education.
