Abstract

Problem statement. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, higher medical education has undergone fundamental transformations. Dental faculties are especially dependent on offline training, as clinical competencies cannot be fully achieved online.Analysis of research. According to WHO (2022), AMEE (2023), and WFME, maintaining clinical practice continuity is vital under crisis conditions. Ukrainian studies highlight psycho-emotional exhaustion of students and loss of simulation laboratories.Purpose. To identify and analyze the peculiarities of offline training of dental students under martial law in Ukraine.Materials and methods. Content analysis of documents (Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Health, WHO), online survey of 212 students of MAUP (2023–2024), focus groups with 11 lecturers, inter-institutional comparison, statistical analysis (SPSS v.25).Results. Main barriers: logistics (64%), limited access to clinical bases (64%), psycho-emotional stress (51%), air raid alarms (60%), infrastructure destruction (48%). 72% of students rated simulation training as effective, but 51% stated that bedside practice is irreplaceable.Conclusions. Offline education remains essential for dental training. There is a need to develop simulation centers, ensure funding of safe educational clusters, and integrate psycho-emotional support into curricula.
